現在建設中の「八戸新幹線」こと、東北新幹線の延伸ルートが絶好調建設中だが、 完成したところで利用客はいるのか？というくらいのローカル駅である。盛岡方面と青森方面の 区切りとされる駅で、盛岡から来た列車はここで編成の一部を切り離されて青森へと向かう。

The construction for "Tohoku Shinkansen superexpress" to extend in the name, "Hachinohe Shinkansen", at present is done. However, there are very few users in this station. This place is the station which is in the middle in Morioka area and Aomori area and the train which came from Morioka heads for Aomori here in the part of the organization, being cut off.

追記：2002年12月に八戸新幹線が開業し、同時にJR東北本線の盛岡−目時−八戸間が 3セク路線「いわて銀河鉄道」「青い森鉄道」に変更された。 要は政治新幹線建設を強制する代わりに赤字路線の放棄をエサにしたわけだが、 新幹線(特急料金含む)とほぼ同額の非常識に高額な運賃は地元無視として、開業初日から非難されている。

Addition: The extension railway of the Superexpress was complete in December, 2002 and began sales. At this time, existing railway was changed into the private management but the charge became very expensive. Therefore, the people who live in this area are criticizing the government which forced the construction of the Superexpress for the private property of the politician.

利用客は大半が学生なのだが、夏や冬の「18きっぷ」シーズンにはゴツいカバンを担いだ 旅行客が増える。

As for the user, the great part is a student but traveling visitor who carried a big bag increases in the summer and the time when "18-kippu" can be used in the winter.

全面改築中のため、ホーム以外の大半がプレハブ造りの駅施設。

In the purpose during surface reconstruction, the great part except the home is the station facilities of the prefab building.

思いっきり「仮駅舎」丸出しの駅。2002年に改築が完了するそうだが…？

駅前は何らビルの一つも建っていないのどかな光景。

A building and a high-rise building aren't built at all around the station.

仮駅舎なので、なにかといい加減なつくりの駅施設。ちなみにトイレは駅の外だ。

現在建設中の新幹線八戸駅。この写真を撮影した前日に駅の内部がマスコミに公開された。 なかなか未来的、っつーかこの地に似合わない駅だったよ(笑)

The Superexpress Hachinohe station to be constructing at present The inside of the station was exhibited to the mass communication in the previous day which the photograph took this photograph. It is modern structure but it is the building which doesn't suit for the atmosphere around.
